Re: GS8048 AC-In Voltage Backflow?

It worked with the GFCI bypassed!
Connected right away and produced good volts and frequency at minimal load.
Too bad I'm already showing 100% and absorbing for the last 2hrs. or I could load it up to test it further.

Re: GS8048 AC-In Voltage Backflow?

IIRC, there are two AC IN terminals on the Radians, each can be configured separately. Might want to double check the configuration of the one connected to the generator. I gave some thought to that already too, thinking I could leverage this to my advantage. Since AC IN is configurable for grid an...

Re: GS8048 AC-In Voltage Backflow?

Thanks for your reply raysun . I wish I had recognized the problem with a GFCI before pulling the trigger on the new generator. I had the N-G bond in the generator disabled and ran a new ground wire from the frame about 10' to the grounding rod. I was really surprised when the GFCI blew right away a...

GS8048 AC-In Voltage Backflow?

I have a 30amp disconnect box attached from the ac-in bus to the outside wall where I run a portable generator. This has worked fine with my old XP8000e (N-G disconnected) for years until the Generac dropped a valve, actually a push rod. About 1-1/2 years ago I started using a 7000/8750 Predator as ...

Re: Configuring generator to fully charge batteries

If you are using 29.4 that equates to 2.45/cell. (dividing by number of cells... assuming 2v cells) If you don't already have a vented battery box, you should make one. Be sure to use an explosion proof fan (like a Zephyr 12V Power Vent) and wire to one of the FM80's to come on at a specific voltage...

Re: vfxr3048e - Charging batteries with generator

I run my 110V washer all the time while the generator is running and charging the batteries... not sure about a 230V unit though. My invertor can only do one thing at a time, so while its charging the batteries, all the loads are supplied directly from the generator. When/if the generator can't hand...

Re: Configuring generator to fully charge batteries

I suspect if the generator is not a good one, once the batteries get charged so far (with only a moderate load) the generators' power is getting out of the acceptable ranges either on volts or frequency. Especially if it's set to the defaults. I used to experience this when my capacitor on the genny...

Re: over sized

I too ran with this line of thinking when figuring up an 8000w system. I knew I wanted to fill the roof space on my RV Port roof with two rows of 15 panels (5 strings of 3 each). 1 row angled for prime winter time, 1 row angled for prime summer time, all facing south. When it came time to purchase t...

Re: Connecting a Portable Generator

I use a Generac XP8000e with my system, just be sure to disconnect the neutral ground bond on the generator, tag it for future reference, and separately ground the chassis to your main grounding rod. Been working for us for almost 2 years now.

Re: Mate 3 Firmware 3.15.5 update

I'm also experiencing the phantom power level showing up on the generator line since updating the firmware today. This is on the physical Mate3 home display page on the unit. It is the numerical value only on the right (with no corresponding black bar on the scale). Not sure how it shows up with Opt...
