Re: Where does the programming reside?

Pre (F)XR model inverter/chargers were not able to be field updated for FW, hence the "set-it and forget-it" of not requiring a permanet Mate after initial set-up...with a Mate the homeowners could fudge things up too easily and cause many unnecessary call backs. OPTICSre didn't exist yet either...

Re: Power factor mismatch? Grid very low, SB=1

Let us not forget the utility...
Counting 5 ground rods...now how bout that utility ground wire running down from transformer on pole?
Problem there may account as to why connecting the generator shows so much better than connecting the grid... :-k

Re: Power factor mismatch? Grid very low, SB=1

I see. Some confusion exists, my bonding refers to only ground to ground everywhere and assumes single N-G, your bonding refers to Neutral to Ground and you want to do that twice as there are 2 systems. But as you say, makes no difference either way, I understand that. Bottom-line, there can be no d...

You say they are two isolated systems so they are exempt for need of EGC bonding them...must be alright then...carry on.

Re: Power factor mismatch? Grid very low, SB=1

MC, don't mix-up low resistance readings for being equal to "bonding not required" ...without solid bonding resistance(s) can and do change. The fact that you have unaccounted current flow is trying to tell you something... BTW: Don't let your body parts get in series with 2 unbonded grounds... many...

Re: GS4040 & FM100 charging question

Might be a dumb question, and I think I already know the answer is "yes" but I'm new to OutBack (moved from an old Trace system) and want to know for sure. Question: If it's night and I'm getting nothing from the array, and if my battery SOC is low, does the system buy power from the grid to top of...

Re: Grid Sell Voltage Setpoint Stuck

The sell voltage has nothing to do with the battery voltage settings. Only your charge controller settings and inverter charger settings control the battery voltages you should observe. Also, remember battery voltage is really only accurately reported at the battery terminals using a meter on them,...

Re: heavy load causing voltage drop

The real question is: Shouldn't the inverter maintain rated voltage ( or try to) and trip a breaker due to high amperage with a heavy load instead of the load sucking the voltage down? It is only a Radian... further explanation...a Radian is not limitless, but rather is/has calculable limits. A mul...

So, the Honda 3000i is unable to output any 220 vac???

Is the non-operating whole-house generator isolated/disconnected from the normal AC electrical system?

7.5 HP is huge...746 watts=1 HP

Soft-start or VFD may be your only chance...VFD using single phase in and three phase out is what i use for 2 HP and it is smooth as silk.

When you change settings in the Mate3 wouldn't they all need saved to a file on SD card so they were easy to reload if/when ever needed again?

Late to the game...
Midnite Classics charge controller works wonders with the battery meter of their own design called "Wizbang Jr."
Also can be monitored and tracked by computer or phone app.

You want fewest battery cells possible to all add up to your total volts with lowest volts cells of the desired amp hours each to get to your total amp hours...forget any 12 volt batteries. Eample: Single 2volt cells X 12cells @ 800 amp/hr each...for 24volt of 800amp/hour Single 2volt cells X 24 cel...

Re: Recommend a backup generator

Some users have found that having a old (V)FX inverter/charger and with it being more forgiving of input volts and hertz and discovered that to put that into service for the sole purpose of charging from an existing less than perfect 120v generator...maybe a older Mate or Mate3 could be implemented ...
