Re: Firmware 1.6.63 == low power output

Setting the maximum sell current did the trick, I think. It's a cloudy day so a little hard to tell, but I'm selling 1.23kW right now which is higher than I saw it go before. Thanks again for the help.

Re: Firmware 1.6.63 == low power output

Ah ha. That's extremely interesting. There is a "maximum sell current" setting that this app note references, which is not visible unless an installer password has been set (mine is not). If that value is being interpreted as 1/4 of the original value, that could explain why my system went from 4kW ...

Firmware 1.6.63 == low power output

I recently swapped out a Mate3 for a Mate3s, and after successfully doing that I updated my GS4048A firmware to the latest 1.6.63. My system is set up for grid-tied. After doing the firmware update, my charge controller generally stayed in GT mode but would occasionally show "Floating" before switch...

Re: FM100-300VDC Important System Configuration Considerati

Will PNL-100-300VDC fit into the GSLC where the current 80-amp breaker is located? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

Re: GT mode versus MPPT Float

Solved this issue. There is a setting in the MATE3 called "Global Charger Control", which was enabled. When I disabled this (the default setting) my FM80 started showing GT mode again.

I of course don't remember how that setting got enabled in the first place, but definitely my own fault. :)

Re: GT mode versus MPPT Float

Yep, both are visible, and I can also see them in Optics. I also see GT mode being enabled in the event log (see attachment). So it's weird that the display doesn't change over.. Honestly I'm not sure what all settings have been changed by now, but mostly related to float/absorb voltages as we tried...

GT mode versus MPPT Float

My FM80 used to show "GT" for its mode most of the time, but lately after a series of experimental settings changes, seems to stay in "MPPT Float" all the time. I'm wondering why. According to the FM80 manual, the FM will show "GT" when the inverter is selling (it is), GT mode has been selected in t...

Re: FM100 Availability?

The datasheet does say that the Mate3s is required. I wonder if it would work just as well with the Mate3 that I already have.. I suppose if it's only been added to the Mate3s firmware, then the answer is probably "no".

Re: FM100 Availability?

Can they be retrofitted into an existing Radian system? I have a FM80 and my solar installer seems to have put too many panels on it, which is causing the 80A limit to be exceeded. Rather than remove panels from the system, I'd love to be able to increase capacity of the charge controller...

Feeding generator input with only 120V

I have a GS4048A. For emergency use, I'd like to be able to connect a portable generator to the system's generator input and allow it to power loads and recharge the batteries (e.g. extended cloudy days where the solar isn't cutting it). If the generator only supplies 120V, will that work? Or do I n...

Re: SOC goes down when selling power

We figured it out - one of the leads from a shunt to the FNDC was not screwed down tight - came that way from the factory. Once I tightened that screw, problem went away.

SOC goes down when selling power

Hi all- Just had a FlexPower One with the GS4048A inverter installed last week. This is set up to be primarily grid-tied, but with battery backup in case the grid goes out. I am having a little trouble getting my head around the theory of operation of this unit - any "getting started" pointers would...
