Re: Data collection using Node-red

Hi,

You create an HTTP input node that reads the JSON URL (like what you can open in your browser).

That HTTP input node feeds a JSON parser node. From there you can graph, print etc

I don't have an example here, this is based on what I remember.

Re: Max charging current is down from where it was before

Have you tried giving a Start Bulk command on the Mate? That's what it often is for me, when the charger won't put out what I think it should. Also, have you checked your absorb voltage and absorb time setpoints lately? Maybe they got changed accidentally. Good point, I have definitely been caught ...

Re: Max charging current is down from where it was before

Hi, AC load is only 100W Bas Since the reporting truncates, the load could be as high as 199W. If you have a Mate3, you can query the built-in web server for "real-time" data that shows current flow. Hi, I'm using some scripts to read the MODBUS (SunSpec) data, so have good insight into what is hap...

Max charging current is down from where it was before

Hi all, Just noticed something curious. Batteries mostly empty, generator running. Generator input limit set to 15A, Inverter charge limit set to 14A. The charger never goes over 12A. Input voltage is nicely at 121V. It used to charge at the full power in the past. I saw 1500W from solar yesterday (...

Re: Is there a mode where the inverter ALWAYS is providing AC, even if AC generator is running

Is there a mode where the inverter will take the AC input and supply just DC to the batteries, and then invert the DC to power the AC load (with a nice and clean waveform). No, there isn't. The inverter can invert, and it can charge, but it can't do both at the same time. It can feed the crappy wav...

Is there a mode where the inverter ALWAYS is providing AC, even if AC generator is running

Hi, Just moved to a larger generator. But it turns out that the output is so shitty that the UPS in have in the cabin complains about it. AC stats are reported by the Inverter (for the generator) are pretty OK (61 Hz, 120V), so it must be the waveform. Is there a mode where the inverter will take th...

Re: Call for Mate3 / Mate3S / AXS Port Beta Testers

Hi,

Correct MATE3s

I have auto reboot set to 1h, and it seems the MODBUS connection (that I use for data collection) comes back. The web page however stays dead. We often use that as a quick way on our phones to see how the system is doing.

Re: Call for Mate3 / Mate3S / AXS Port Beta Testers

Hi Ian, It's a 48V system with a very high quality DC-DC converter to feed the switch with 5V. But even if the switch would have a hickup, that should should not take out the Mate3s ability to recover from it. TCP/IP was very much designed for non perfect communication. There is several other pieces...

Re: Call for Mate3 / Mate3S / AXS Port Beta Testers

Hi, My MATE3 was replaced with a MATE3s under warranty. The network issues however still persist. In my case it can be reproduced 100% of the time by putting a large load on the generator (it's undersized) causing the inverter to drop AC-IN. At that point the MATE3 stops responding to any IP traffic...

Hi, Came back here to see what other people are seeing. My MATE3 dies and was replaced under warranty. My MATE3s is suffering from the exact same network issues. There was one firmware version a while back that was MUCH better. Stupidly I did not write down which one, I might go and try several. My ...

Tried the same with the latest firmware. UP goes to Updating Ethernet Processor, but that doesn't change anything. I need the whole firmware to refresh, not just the ethernet processor.

What's next?

Hi, Removed the SD card, power cycled -> No change Inserted the SD card, power cycled, Press UP and HOLD -> Got "Updating ethernet processor" and then the MATE3 restarted -> No change (lock still not working) UP does not offer me the upgrade option again. Still no way to get into the device, and web...

Re: MATE3 no longer responds to LOCK key

Hi Kurt,

Will try next time I'm up. For the UP button trick. Is that:
- MATE3 fully started
- PRESS and HOLD UP until a new screen shows

Or one of those, start up with key pressed down for x seconds deals?

MATE3 no longer responds to LOCK key

Hi, MATE3 on the latest firmware, back to the loosing access to the web interface all the time problem :( But now I actually get a 404 error! The XML request still returns OK. I had a low voltage shutdown (batteries drained) so I was thinking I might have a corrupt file system. Was going to push the...

Re: MODBUS/Sunspec changes in latest MATE3 firmware?

The AXS Port page has a download link to the API development kit, which has been updated for SunSpec SA compliance. The ZIP file has a white paper describing the SunSpec blocks as semantic overlays to Modbus registers and how to traverse the blocks in a scalable manner. It also has a reference for ...

Re: MODBUS/Sunspec changes in latest MATE3 firmware?

Hi Andrew, I did modify my code to ignore all blocks that I donÔÇÖt recognize. I only have my mate3 to test against, so that makes it a bit harder :) IÔÇÖve had reconnect code for a long time and have had months of good success with it. Now it completely dies and never comes back. Only after a full ...

Re: MODBUS/Sunspec changes in latest MATE3 firmware?

Hi, Did some more digging and found two issues :( - Several new (undocumented?) blocks have shown up (for example, BlockID 140 at address 41424). I'm ignoring these for now but would like to know what they are. There is over 10 new ones starting at address 40630 (Block ID 120) - The Sunspec interfac...

MODBUS/Sunspec changes in latest MATE3 firmware?

Hello,

After updating to the latest MATE3 firmware, the code I use to read from the MODBUS interface is suddenly not working anymore.

Looks like the block assignment are different now? Is there an updated document so I can change my code?

Re: we're online and making watts! (but a few small issues)

As basrijn says, the networking deaths are the most annoying thing about the MATE3, and the MATE3S has yet to show any sign of being better. I SO agree with the first part. On that second part, I'm feeling far more positive. The good news is, the Mate3 issues are (admittedly, belatedly) getting som...

Very good, in the future I'll send an email to the WattPlot tech support. If you think the installation issue I keep having has been addressed in the latest version, I'll give it another crack. OpticsRE seems to be working well for me, and I can pull up the MATE3s in my browser directly through the...
