Re: Flex ware 250

Apologies, I was going off of memory.

Path: Adv / FX / PG4 / SELL / Down to Grid Tie Authority:
No Sell = Sell feature is OFF
Grid Tied = Sell feature is ON

Here is a video showing you this:

Re: Flex ware 250

The Grid-tied function may be turned on/off via the mate advance menu. From home screen go to ADV / password 141 / FX Inverter function turns off the invert mode. By pressing OFF the unit will no longer produce 120Vac on the output terminals. In Search mode the Inverter will output 120Vac pulses. Th...

Your best bet is to contact OutBack's tech support and request an RMA. The service depot can replace the screen.

Also keep in mind the OutBack doesn't condition the voltage it will just pass through the generator power straight to your house so your loads will receive this higher voltage.

10.5Vdc is the minimum voltage to fire up the charge controller.

You may need to charge the batteries with an external charger. If these are 12V mono-blocs you could use an automotive 12V charger or wire them in groups of 12V.

Re: Flex ware 250 GVFX 3648 Question

Question: if I wire from my grid tied 200 amp home panel a single pole 60amp breaker and run circuit to AC input and nothing wired to AC output all solar would back feed on the AC input circuit into grid? As Mike mentioned this is correct. One thing to consider is when not having any loads connecte...

Re: Flex ware 250 GVFX 3648 Question

Hi,

The GVFX will offset your loads connected to the AC output of the inverter, if renewable power is still available it will send the reminder to the AC input feeding your Main panel.

Re: Adding generator to GS8048A

Hi There welcome to the forum! and thanks for your system description! The generator should wire into the GEN input of the Load center. The Input mode should be defaulted to Generator but wouldn't hurt to double check. One thing i noticed is you have a relatively small generator for the Radian so yo...

Re: FLEXmax 80 display

Try doing a "hard reset" on the FM80 controller.

Turn off PV input breaker
Turn off Batt output breaker
While unit is completely off, press and hold buttons #1 and #3 (from left to right)
While still holding the buttons, turn on the battery breaker.

This should reset the unit including settings.

When you have a HUB and MATE you only need one RTS connected to the FXR connected into PORT 1 of the HUB.

Re: Mate works On CC, but not FX

Sorry for your troubles! The AC IN light blinks when it detects voltage on the AC Input terminals. If you have a voltmeter, remove the AC in wires then measure the terminals directly from the inverter's AC board. Did you happen to read any voltage when you measured the AC Input/output terminals with...

Re: Configuring generator to not directly carry house loads

Hi Ryan, That is due to the internal transfer switch. Here is a video explaining this: https://youtu.be/ssMhDa6tdu4 Mini-grid will also connect/disconnect in the same manner plus it will need the "grid" or generator to be present all the time for it to work. Another thing you can look at is a DC gen...

Re: Configuring generator to not directly carry house loads

This is not possible with the OutBack Inverter/chargers.

A work around would be to install an additional OB Inverter/Charger solely for battery charging and if paired with a MATE3 you can program the auto start function.

Unplug the FNDC, fully recharge the batteries then plug it back in. This is a quick way to sync the %SOC.

Re: New Outback power system - clicking noise in morning/sle

When I turn it all on in the morning, the mate goes to "100%" THe FLEXnet DC is the device that measures state of charge and is not really meant to be powered down every day. It doesn't have a SOC memory so if you power it down/up it will reset itself to 100%. You can turn off just the charge contr...

FXR's also have the ABC charging profile. You might also look into advanced VRLA batteries. OutBack sells Pure Lead Carbon batteries. They perform better than traditional flooded and way cheaper than Lithium options. Presumably the Radian would do a better job of tracking SOC in the advanced batteri...

Re: FP2 FXR3048 vs. Radian GS8048

I've been told the FP2 no longer has a balancing transformer so the output is limited to 3000 watts per leg. The concern is that I might have problems overloading a single leg and when that happens the system shuts down. Correct, Not with FXR's. Legacy off-grid models did however. In terms of surge...

Congratulations on your off-grid living! 1) Clicking noise - I have heard an occasional "click" from somewhere in this unit in the mornings, but this morning, it was driving me crazy, clicking about very 30 - 60 seconds, starting just before dawn - waking me up, and wanting me to take a sledge hamme...
