Senior Product Manager

About this job

We seek a Senior Product Manager to join our team in Arlington, WA.  This position leads the development and evolution of Outback Power's next-generation renewable energy storage platforms and related product lines.

  • Create an exceptionally positive experience for installers and end-users who interact with Outback Power's new products
  • Participate with senior management in the development of near and long-term product strategy and roadmap
  • Create and refine product definitions that clearly connect new products to ready customer segments - ensure each product has the right features at the right price
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional product development projects with engineering, manufacturing and sales
  • Plan and lead product launches
  • Develop and refine product pricing and positioning strategies, including product transitions and end-of-life plans
  • Drive creation and continuous improvement of product sales tools and materials, including printed collateral, online presence, and representation at events and trade shows
  • Drive creation and continuous improvement of product installation and maintenance resources, including training resources, manuals, and related tools
  • Create and maintain worldwide competitive cross references
  • Conduct ongoing research and customer direct feedback for identifying new product ideas
  • Cultivate and build awareness and understanding of product line
  • Report monthly product launch status to executive management

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent military training in field of engineering or other technical field

Experience: 6 - 8 years in product development or management, electrical design or solar power system design

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a complex multi-channel marketing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute product-centric business plans
  • Intermediate PC application skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Renewable energy experience
  • Experience with advanced energy storage and/or related "Grid-Edge" technologies
  • Familiarity with energy management systems and concepts

Travel Requirements: 10 - 25%
